Miele Washing Machine Not Draining

If the drain hose discharges into a shared kitchen sink, check that the sink drain itself flows freely.    If filter and hose checks are clear and the impeller spins freely by hand but the machine still does not drain, the drain pump motor winding may have failed open-circuit. Test with a multimeter across the pump motor terminals — typical resistance is 150–250 Ω on Miele W1 pumps. An open reading (OL / infinite) confirms motor failure and the pump assembly will need replacement.
