Bosch Dishwasher Not Draining: E24 Error Code Fix

   Clogged Filter Assembly (Most Common)

   Bosch dishwashers have a three-part filter system at the bottom of the tub — a coarse filter, a fine mesh filter, and a flat mesh filter. Food particles, grease, and debris accumulate here and restrict drain flow. Bosch recommends cleaning the filter monthly, but most people never do it.

   Kinked or Clogged Drain Hose

   The drain hose runs from the dishwasher pump to the sink drain or garbage disposal. It can become kinked behind the dishwasher or clogged with debris. A drain hose that loops too low (no high loop) can also allow backflow from the sink drain.

   Blocked Garbage Disposal Connection

   If your dishwasher drains into a garbage disposal, the knockout plug inside the disposal must be removed when first installed. Over time, the connection can also clog with food debris from the disposal.

   Failed Drain Pump

   The drain pump impeller can become jammed with hard debris (glass, pits, bones) or the pump motor can fail. You'll hear a humming sound when the pump should be running but water stays in the tub.

1. 1Clean the filter: remove the bottom rack. Twist out the cylindrical filter (counterclockwise), lift out the flat mesh filter, then remove the coarse filter. Rinse all three under warm running water, scrubbing with a soft brush. Reinstall in reverse order.
2. 2Check the drain hose: pull the dishwasher forward (after shutting off the water supply) and inspect the hose running from the pump to the sink drain or disposal. Straighten any kinks. The hose should have a high loop under the counter to prevent backflow.
